Antarctica
January 14-30, 2025
Michael Frye and Chris Linder / Visionary Wild
Renowned landscape photographer Michael Frye and his partner Claudia Welsh (formerly V.P. at the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite) will join Chris Linder, Visionary Wild’s resident Antarctica expert and an IAATO-certified Antarctic guide. After a comfortable charter flight across the notorious Drake Passage, our creative focus on this trip will be evenly divided between the wildlife spectacle and sublime landscape. Our route will take us to colonies of Adélie, chinstrap, and gentoo penguins, and along the way we will encounter leopard, crab-eater, and Weddell seals, orcas and humpback whales. The dramatic landscape of glacier-covered mountains and islands rises from the various sheltered channels, dotted with immense icebergs. Join us for a unique small ship (only 10 photographers) experience aboard the Hans Hansson.

Greenland
September 9-21, 2025
Michael Frye, Chris Linder, Jerry Dodrill / Visionary Wild
Greenland’s remote and little-visited ice fjords hold a wealth of arctic grandeur. Towers, arches, and walls of ancient blue ice thrust skyward from the water’s surface. Steep-walled fjords, dramatic coastal mountains, tundra in autumn color, the vast Greenland Ice Sheet, and the aurora borealis combine to form an incomparable landscape. Join this world-class team of leaders – Michael Frye, Chris Linder, and Jerry Dodrill – for this exclusive expedition to Greenland, photographing this arctic wilderness in all its glory. Explore the largest fjord system in the world – Scoresbysund, covering 14,700 square miles and penetrating over 200 miles into Greenland’s interior – aboard the three-masted expedition vessel Rembrandt van Rijn.

Falkland Islands
December 5-21, 2025
Chris Linder / Visionary Wild
The Falkland Islands are one of the greatest wildlife meccas on Earth. Situated in the South Atlantic Ocean 300 miles east of the tip of South America, this archipelago of nearly 800 islands is home to four species of penguins (southern rockhopper, gentoo, Magellanic, and king), plus elegant black-browed albatrosses, imperial and rock cormorants, southern elephant seals and southern sea lions. This two-week photographic itinerary, led by renowned polar photographer Chris Linder, puts you right in the heart of the Falklands’ most remarkable locations, with ample time in each spot to ensure you get the best opportunities to capture your subjects in the perfect light. It is no hyperbole to say that the Falklands is an immersive wildlife experience like no other.

Iceland Winter Arctic Fox
February 3-13, 2026
Chris Linder / Visionary Wild
Join me for a winter wildlife photography workshop focused on Iceland’s charismatic arctic fox in the remote Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. Hornstrandir is a 220 square mile expanse of glacially-carved valleys, towering sea cliffs, and Iceland’s only native terrestrial mammal, the arctic fox. This workshop has been deliberately capped at five photographers, providing a more private and comfortable experience for both participants and the wildlife. The workshop has been timed for late winter, when abundant snowfall creates the opportunity for epic photographic backdrops. With over nine hours of night, there is also the potential for seeing the aurora borealis. Each participant will have their own private room in a historic lodge overlooking the spectacular Jökulfirðir fjord.

Iceland Winter Highlands and Ice Caves
February 15-26, 2026
Chris Linder and Justin Black / Visionary Wild
Iceland in winter is a landscape photographer’s dream: snow-covered highlands, prolonged sunrises and sunsets, long nights perfect for the aurora borealis, frozen waterfalls, deep blue ice caves, and fewer tourists, particularly when we escape into the highlands in our caravan of Superjeeps. The bulk of this spectacular island is still remote, uncrowded, and unspoiled. We will venture into the largest wilderness area in Europe—the vast Highlands—where, according to Icelandic legend, outlaws, dragons, and evil spirits once lurked, and some believe elves are still in residence. This expedition is intended for those who want to get off the beaten track—literally and figuratively—to make truly unique photographs in the otherworldly landscape of the “land of fire and ice.” Getting into Iceland’s rugged Highlands is a challenge in itself. There are no paved roads or bridges over the rivers. To find your way through this wilderness, a competent 4WD vehicle and experience is mandatory. Chris Linder and Justin Black will lead this twelve-day/eleven-night small-group photo expedition.

Eclipse in Greenland
August 1-16, 2026
Justin Black and Chris Linder / Visionary Wild
Have you ever dreamed of witnessing a total eclipse in the Arctic, with the sun and moon reaching totality just 24 degrees above the horizon? Even without the eclipse, this combination of Svalbard’s abundant arctic wildlife and Greenland’s sublime but remote and little-visited ice fjords hold a wealth of natural grandeur and photographic opportunities. Towers, arches, and walls of ancient blue ice thrust skyward from the water’s surface. Steep-walled fjords, dramatic coastal mountains, naturally-sculpted icebergs, and the vast Greenland Ice Sheet combine to form an incomparable landscape. Join us for this unique expedition, photographing the arctic wilderness in all its glory, with a total solar eclipse as just one of many highlights. With generous photographic instruction and attentive support along the way, explore the largest fjord system in the world – Scoresbysund, covering 14,700 square miles and penetrating over 200 miles into Greenland’s interior – aboard the very modern and luxurious Polar Class 6 expedition vessel M/V Hondius.
