Penguin Science, Ross Island

For over 55 years, scientists have studied the Adélie penguins that nest on Antarctica's Ross Island. Using super-spy tracking devices and ingeniously designed weigh bridges, they are learning where the penguins go and how much they eat when they forage in the Southern Ocean. This study is also revealing how penguins are responding to climate change in Antarctica—and what that means for our own species.
